writing my three books

i'll talk about my first book, A to Z Odes for Everyone, which was a book of poetry. it stemmed out of an eighth-grade poetry assignment to make two poems, specifically odes. that spun into me using poetry as a way to express myself creatively, as well as a somewhat relaxing outlet in a time of a lot of change with covid and whatnot. i went on to become a ta in one of my classes, specifically mobile applications, in my high school. the teacher and i were leading the class and a lot of students came to me with questions about apis, how to use them with mobile apps, whether in android studio, react, or other new frameworks. there were so many notes that i had written up, presentations that i've given, cheat sheets, note cards, etc. what i did was compile all of that into something that my students could tangibly use, called The API Terminology Handbook. that was the second book i've ever published, and my first technical book. from there i got a lot of feedback and iterated on what was good and what was bad. over the course of a year plus, i had an internship at abbvie, where i was working with apis in an enterprise setting. there i had to deal with api governance and security protocols. it opened my eyes to what else there was to know about apis. i find apis very fascinating because they're connectors not just to services, but also gateways to different systems. i'd love to talk more about it but obviously you should read my book. when i entered osu, it was still a passion project of mine to get this book out and learn as much as i could. with the help of my professors, along with reading researchers' papers, building projects, and winning hackathons, i was surprisingly able to publish my third book, The API Blueprint. it's my 500-page flagship book that i've worked so long to write and push out. as of december 31, 2024, it was officially published, but it was only after i released my linkedin post that people really knew about it. it was a great experience and i do recommend everybody read any of my books. i put a lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears into them and i am currently in the process of drafting the manuscript for my next book, which is on the low rn. keep on the look out for that 👀
